The Anointing of the Sick

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick strengthens the spirit and body of those who live but because of illness or old age have serious problems with health or are in the danger of death.

This Sacrament may be received again if the sick person after recovering fell ill again or in the process of the same illness the danger became more serious. Receiving of the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick before the difficult operation is recommended.

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is given to the sick people who have asked for this Sacrament. Particular Sacrament cannot be given to those who obstinately persist in manifest grave sin.

In the case of the death danger not even the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is given but also the Viaticum as the ideal food for the journey from this world to life after death.
